This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to:
  • For specialisation in Customer Engagement , 4 elective units must be selected from Group D
  • For specialisation in Business Administration , 4 elective units must be selected from Group E
  • For specialisation in Medical Administration , 4 elective units must be selected from Group F
  • For specialisation in Records and Information Management , 4 elective units must be selected from Group G.
  • Where the learner has achieved a specialisation in Customer Engagement, the job roles that relate to this qualification may include Customer Service Representative.
  • Where the learner has achieved a specialisation in Business Administration, the job roles that relate to this qualification may include Administrative Assistant.
  • Where the learner has achieved a specialisation in Medical Administration, the job roles that relate to this qualification may include Medical Receptionist and Medical Secretary.
  • Where the learner has achieved a specialisation in Records and Information Management, the job roles that relate to this qualification may include Records Assistant.
The achievement of a specialisation will be identified on testamurs as follows:

  • BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Administration)
  • BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration)
  • BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Records and Information Management).

BSBXCM301 – Engage in workplace communication
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work inclusively and respectfully with others.
Elective units may vary depending on the provider, but often include topics such as:
BSBLDR413:Lead effective workplace relationships
This unit describes the skills, knowledge and outcomes required to use leadership to promote team cohesion. It includes motivating, mentoring, coaching and developing the team and forming the bridge between the management of the organisation and team members. The unit applies to team leaders, supervisors and new or emerging managers where leadership plays a role in developing and maintaining effective workplace relationships. It applies in any industry or community context. At this level work will normally be carried out within routine and non-routine methods and procedures, which require planning, evaluation, leadership and guidance of others.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, draft and review a basic document.
BSBESB401:Research and develop business plans
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and develop business plans.
BSBPMG430:Undertake project work
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to undertake and manage project work.
BSBXCM401: Apply communication strategies in the workplace
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to facilitate and apply communication strategies in the workplace within any industry. This unit has a specific focus on the communication skills required for supervisor level workers with responsibility for other workers.

The assessment methods for this qualification typically include a combination of:

  • Written assignments
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Case studies
  • Role-plays
  • Observations in a simulated work environment
  • Duration:  1 year.
  • Delivery: Can be completed through classroom-based learning, online learning, workplace training, or a combination of these methods.
  • After completing the Certificate III, students may choose to further their studies with higher-level qualifications such as:

    • BSB40120 – Certificate IV in Business
    • BSB40520 – Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
    • BSB50120 – Diploma of Business
    • Other specialized business qualifications

    This qualification provides a solid foundation for individuals seeking to start a career in business, offering essential skills and knowledge that are applicable across various business environments and roles.

For face to face classes (not including RPL)

  • Disposal tools free from IAMA
  • Field trips may incur a cost to the Learner. (going to library or business places)
  • Disposal Tools (Notebooks and Pens).
  • Laptop supported from IAMA for practice and research in campus only.
  • There are generally no formal prerequisites for this course, but a basic level of literacy and numeracy is expected.
  • Some cases may need a pre-enrolment assessment to ensure the course is suitable for the prospective student.
