This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to:

  • For specialisation in Leadership , 4 elective units must be selected from Group B
  • For specialisation in Business Administration , 4 elective units must be selected from Group C
  • For specialisation in Business Operations , 4 elective units must be selected from Group D
  • For specialisation in Sustainability , 4 elective units must be selected from Group E
  • For specialisation in Big Data , 4 elective units must be selected from Group F
  • For specialisation in Cyber Security , 4 elective units must be selected from Group G
  • For specialisation in Financial Administration , 4 elective units must be selected from Group H
  • For specialisation in Records and Information Management , 4 elective units must be selected from Group I
  • For specialisation in Procurement , 4 elective units must be selected from Group J.

The achievement of a specialisation will be identified on a testamur as follows:

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements. It applies to individuals who play a role in ensuring that WHS laws are adhered to in their work area. They will apply organisational procedures and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
BSBWRT411:Write complex documents
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, draft and finalise complex documents. It applies to individuals who are required to write complex documents that require extensive research, careful planning, and significant drafting and review processes.
BSBTWK 401 Build and maintain business relationships
Build and Maintain Business Relationships equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to effectively establish, develop, and sustain strong business relationships across various professional contexts.

BSBESB401:Research and develop business plans
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and develop business plans. It applies to individuals who are responsible for planning and developing comprehensive business plans that outline business goals, strategies, and operational plans.
BSBHRM531:Coordinate health and wellness programs
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to coordinate programs with a health and wellbeing focus. The unit addresses coordination of the range of programs that would typically be associated with health and wellbeing such as stress management, smoking cessation, exercise and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).The unit applies to individuals who take responsibility for managing staff health and wellness programs or activities.It also has particular relevance for managers of human resources or diversity programs, frontline managers and specialist consultants responsible for promoting a balance between work demands and personal life. The individual may not be directly involved in delivering the programs.
BSBPEF402: Develop personal work priorities
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop personal work priorities and professional development. It applies to individuals who need to manage their own work priorities, set personal goals, and plan for professional growth.
BSBPEF502: Develop and use emotional intelligence
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the workplace. The unit applies to individuals who are required to identify, analyse, synthesise and act on information from a range of sources and who deal with unpredictable problems as part of their job role. These individuals may be responsible for leading a team or work area.
BSBTWK401:Build and maintain business relationships
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish, develop and maintain effective work relationships and networks through relationship building and negotiation skills required by workers. These workers may be within an organisation as well as freelance or contract workers. The unit applies to individuals with a broad knowledge of networking and negotiation who contribute to creating solutions to unpredictable problems. They may have responsibility for and provide guidance to others.
BSBTWK503: Manage meetings
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes. The unit applies to individuals employed in a range of work environments who are required to organise and manage meetings within their workplace. These individuals may work as senior administrative staff or may be individuals with responsibility for conducting and chairing meetings in the workplace.
BSBXCM401 Apply communication strategies in the workplace
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply communication strategies in the workplace. It applies to individuals who need to develop communication plans, engage in effective communication, and use communication strategies to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Duration: 1 year.
  • Delivery: Can be completed through classroom-based learning, online learning, workplace training, or a combination of these methods.

After completing the Certificate IV, students may choose to further their studies with higher-level qualifications such as:

  • BSB50120 – Diploma of Business
  • BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • BSB60120 – Advanced Diploma of Business
  • Bachelor of Business or related degrees

For face to face classes (not including RPL)

  • Disposal tools free from IAMA
  • Field trips may incur a cost to the Learner. (going to library or business places)
  • Disposal Tools (notebooks and pens, laptop in campus)
  • Laptop supported from IAMA for practice and research in campus only.
  • There are generally no formal prerequisites for this course, but a Certificate III in Business or equivalent experience may be beneficial.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills are expected.
  • Some cases may need a pre-enrollment assessment to ensure the course is suitable for the prospective student.
