The unit addresses coordination of the range of programs that would typically be associated with health and wellbeing such as stress management, smoking cessation, exercise and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).The unit applies to individuals who take responsibility for managing staff health and wellness programs or activities.It also has particular relevance for managers of human resources or diversity programs, frontline managers and specialist consultants responsible for promoting a balance between work demands and personal life. The individual may not be directly involved in delivering the programs.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff that are direct reports.The unit applies to individuals who manage people. It covers work allocation and the methods to review performance, reward excellence and provide feedback. The unit makes the link between performance management and performance development and reinforces both functions as a key requirement for effective managers.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage personal and professional development. It applies to managers who are responsible for developing their own skills and knowledge as well as supporting the development of others within the organization.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use digital technologies to collaborate effectively.
BSBTWK503:Manage meetings
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes.The unit applies to individuals employed in a range of work environments who are required to organise and manage meetings within their workplace. These individuals may work as senior administrative staff or may be individuals with responsibility for conducting and chairing meetings in the workplace.
BSBWRT411:Write complex documents
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, draft and finalise complex documents. It applies to individuals who are required to write complex documents that require extensive research, careful planning, and significant drafting and review processes.
BSBCMM 511 Communicate with influence
BSBCMM511: Communicate with Influence equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to effectively convey ideas and persuade stakeholders, enhancing professional impact and achieving desired outcomes.
BSBHRM 531 Coordinate health and wellness programs
BSBHRM531: Coordinate Health and Wellness Programs equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to effectively plan, implement, and manage health and wellness initiatives within an organization.

The assessment methods for this qualification typically include a combination of:

  • Duration:  1 Year.
  • Delivery: Can be completed through classroom-based learning, online learning, workplace training, or a combination of these methods.

After completing the Diploma of Leadership and Management, students may choose to further their studies with higher-level qualifications such as:

  • BSB60120 – Advanced Diploma of Business

    • There are generally no formal prerequisites for this course, but some experience in a business environment or previous study in a related area may be beneficial.

    • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills are expected.

    • some cases may need a pre-enrollment assessment to ensure the course is suitable for the prospective student.
