Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Recertification

The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 12 months..

Assessment

Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.

HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This course is delivered in following way: – Classroom based (Face to Face) (practical is essential to obtain the competency) 
  • Face to Face classroom base IAMA Wolli creek campus
  • 6 hours per day
  • Additionally, student is expected at least 6 hours of individual study per week not limited to research, learning activities and assessment activities.
  • Assessment is based on competency (the ability to demonstrate specific skills) and is undertaken through a combination which consist of classroom observation, discussion, case studies, role plays and written assignments.

There are no prerequisites for this first aid course.
